Sir BarfsALot

After a fun filled evening at GrandDaddy's celebrating his birthday Logan got terribly sick in the car in the way home. Poor little guy was not upset but kept asking me to clean his hand. Home into a bath then to bed. It took me an hour to disassemble and clean the car seat. I won't go in to details but the fun is still continuing. I feel so helpless don't know how to make it better.

On happier moments. On the ride from the sitter to Granddaddy Logan and I rehearsed singing Happy Birthday. At cake time he sang like a champ. And then asked to sing it again after the candles were blown out. My father got all teared up (not a hard thing to do) even still Daddy said it was the best gift he could have gotten.

First Group Playdate

Yesterday Logan and I finally were able to meet up with the Playgroup in my area. The plan is to take turns once a week and meet up at someone’s home. We also are making plans for meeting at other places, like Port discovery, the Zoo, Parks etc. Total I think we have about 10 members maybe more. Yesterday there we 5 Mommies and 6 kids. Logan has a new best friend, Hailey DD of the host she's 6 days younger then Logan. They hit it off right from the start, I was so relived as Logan's social interaction with kids his own age has been limited. They played with no issues for a good 3 hours. Then as hunger and fatigue set in we had an "altercation" They were playing tug of war over a bus, I'm not sure who was trying to take it from whom. Finally Logan let go with one hand, pulled back and punched Hailey right in the mouth. I was horrified, expecting Hailey to start screaming, but NO it was Logan that started crying! As soon as he pulled his hand back, "I hurt!, kiss it better Mommy!!" Apparently punching someone in the mouth hurts your hand pretty bad. Needless to say every Mom in the room busted out laughing, There I am trying to scold Logan about not hitting, and I can't keep a straight face! Hailey’s Mom was literally in tears laughing so hard. All the while Hailey has gone onto play with the bus like nothing has happed, and Logan is STILL crying that his hand hurts. A minute or so later Hailey comes over to console Logan!! It was so stinking cute. Hailey didn’t seem fazed by the incident and later when we were getting ready to leave she announced, "You (Logan) are staying!

Time to join the ranks...

I look forward everyday to reading the blogs I follow. With that I've decided that I should give something back.

Only 3 hours till my 6 day "weekend" starts. The sitter needed to have Wed off this week so I switched my schedule to Mon & Tues. I'm so looking forward to the time off. I miss Logan so much while I'm at work, and the past 3 weeks one or both of us has been sick and not much fun. Hopefully this weekend will be a blast. The weather is supposed to warm up some so I'm thinking that we might actually be able to go outside a little. We are both stir crazy, Logan's got so much energy it's exhausting to me he needs to run it off.

I've finally gotten motivated to get the back porch done. It's off the kitchen totally enclosed and fairly large, 6x12. I really is a nice room BUT it needs a make over, there is lead paint out there but its not chipped or peeling. My plan is to cover the walls and ceiling with bead board just like what’s already there, replace the shelving unit, put down a new floor. and then paint the trim around the windows. I'll also put in a new screen door, ceiling fan and install all new moulding. Oh and insolate the underside of the floor. Sounds like a lot but I figure I can do it all for around $500. Which isn’t to bad when you think about all the extra space I'll get. Then I'm going to use this room as Logan’s art/craft area. It's bright and sunny, even in the winter it stays warm out there, and in the summer well we'll just be in the yard. So my goal for this weekend is to clean out everything that’s on the porch, tear out the existing shelving unit, remove all the moulding. Realistically I could do all this in a few hours but finding the time when I'm a) not chasing Logan and b) motivated is a challenge so I'll keep the goals to a minimum.

Onto making IRL friends. I've joined a local moms board. I've missed all the playgroups so far due to illness, and work. But I'm meeting one of the Mom's tonight. She's got a 2 month old, and is in desperate need of a sitter tomorrow. A few of us volunteered but she called me. So if all goes well I'll be watching a 2 month old tomorrow.
